We value supportive decision making with all our individuals, and compassion and empathy is a virtue!The support worker provides direct support in a manner that is consistent with the Harbour Landing Village philosophy paired with personalized support plans. We encourage teamwork and open communication with our staff and our residents, while maintaining confidentiality. Your function will include working with young adults with varying level of physical and cognitive capability. The position requires shift flexibility, requiring open availcapability. You will be required to accompany, and participate where appropriate, in various activities with the young adults that range from swimming to attending social events. RESPONSIBILITIES (includes, but are not limited to): Provides direct support to Young Adults significant to their personal plans while monitoring the individual's health concerns and emergencies Provide a nurturing atmosphere for all residents connected to the Aspen Trail care area. everyday tasks, such as meal planning and preparation, managing and administering medications, and home maintenance. Planning and implementing leisure activities Attend regularly scheduled meetings and attend support training Communicate effectively with the individual's families, management and other support service representatives Assume any additional responsibilities as directed by the manager and coordinator.
