   » INSTRUCTOR FOR CAREGIVER TRAINING
Are you eager to work in a positive and welcoming environment where the results of your efforts translate into healthy, happy Indigenous families and communities- We are a not for profit organization dedicated to strengthening the lives and voices of Indigenous people, and We are seeking for an Instructor for Caregiver Training person to join our compassionate, respectful, and caring team. If you're an expert communicator, with training and curriculum development practice, and facilitation expertise and have a passion for working in partnership with Indigenous families, elders, and communities, then we want to talk with you!
In the Instructor position, you'll be that familiar face, and the expert resource providing the 18 hour and 53 hour Caregiver Training developed by the Ministry for Children and Family Development. Working in an environment that prioritizes accountcapability, transparency, and respect, you'll act as that all-important first point of contact and trainer for Caregivers in BC. Every day you'll be making a significant contribution by facilitating and encouraging access to vital resources and tools and helping caregivers to succeed and thrive in their function with children and youth in care.

Unique to our organization is our commitment to culturally significant services. For 20 years, our programs have been fostering a deeper knowledge of Indigenous perspectives and cultural differences and helping build prosperous relationships with Indigenous communities, stakeholders and government partners.
The ideal candidate will have:
oA Bachelor of Social Work or related degree.
oA strong background in Aboriginal Social Work in the area of child welfare and social services.
oKnowledge of the Child and Family Services Act, Caregiver Support Services Standards, Child Protection Standards, Ministry of Children and Youth Service Regulations, Guidelines and Policy Directives, Case Management and Supervision requirements.
oKnowledge of Customary Care and the philosophy of service development and delivery, the
communities and family structure, as well as local first Nations customs and traditions.
opractice in Child Welfare Frontline Case Management systems and procedures.
oPreference will be given to candidates of Aboriginal ancestry.
