BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre is seeking a Clinical Counselor (Casual) for it's Care Program.

The CARE Program provides services for women who are experiencing an unintended pregnancy, or who require a pregnancy termination for genetic or medical reasons.

Our Clinical Counsellor works with a multi-disciplinary team to provide support for women in decision making, assistance with contraception options, consent and readiness for procedure and offering follow-up counselling if required.

What you bring:
   » Master's Degree in a health related discipline such as Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology or a related health discipline from a recognized program at an accredited educational institution.
   » Specific training and certification applicable to program area and patient population or an equivalent combination of education, training and practice.
   »Two (2) years of recent related work practice in community and/or hospital organizations that includes practice working with the designated client population, including practice in planning, coordinating and evaluating within a multi-disciplinary team setting; educating and training using a variety of teaching modalities, and facilitating or co-facilitating support groups.
   » Eligible for membership and registration in the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors.

You will have the capability to:
   » Demonstrate expertise and skill working with the designated client population.
   » Demonstrate broad expertise in counselling, clinical assessment and report writing.
   » Engage in individual and group therapy sessions alone and as a co-facilitator.
   » Develop, coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate education/training or discussion groups on a wide variety of health topics for this client population.
   » contact effectively with staff at all levels of the organization and with partners in other health centres and community agencies across the Province.
   » Demonstrate sensitivity, confidentiality, and commitment to trauma informed and patient and family-centred care
   » Demonstrate facilitation, mediation and conflict resolution techniques and demonstrated analytical and problem solving expertise.
   » Design and develop health-care resources for a variety of audiences.
   » Undertake the background research and facilitate the planning of projects, research proposals and reports.
   » Understand the provincial context as it pertains to service delivery and policy issues.
   » Hold expertise of Indigenous cultural safety, to provide health care services that are equitable, respectful and safe.
