This is an exciting opportunity to work at the regional district administration office in Prince Rupert, B.C. This is an exempt term position, with possible contract extension subject to budgetary considerations.The NCRD provides local government services to the 19,000 residents that live within the 19,716 km of land that stretches from the mouth of the Skeena River on the North Coast mainland across the Hecate Strait to the rainforests of Haida Gwaii. The NCRD is a resilient and forward-looking region, characterized by strong communities that choose to work together as a federation, and in partnership with First Nations, to manage local resources and to provide opportunities for the benefit of all, including future generations. About the Position The Executive adjunct performs specialized and confidential administrative work in the areas of corporate administration, grant administration and human resources, directly supporting the Chief Administrative agent and Corporate agent. Primary tasks include: » Providing general administrative/secretarial support to the Chief Administrative agent, and Corporate agent including but not limited to processing confidential material and matters; typing correspondence, reports and related materials; maintaining files; arranging appointments and meetings and coordinating travel arrangements. » Under the direction of the Corporate agent, provides administrative support in Corporate Administration processes and programs including the online agenda and minute taking. » Assisting the Corporate agent and staff in maintaining the LGMA Records Management System and document digitization. » With approval from the Corporate agent, coordinate social media posts, website updates, press releases, newsletters, and advertisements. » Additional administrative tasks and functions as assigned by the Chief Administrative agent or Corporate agent. A detailed job description can be found on our website at: Qualifications and practice » Completion of post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree public administration, business administration, or a related discipline; and » Completion or progression toward a recognized program in Local Government Administration (preferred). » One year practice in public sector corporate administration (preferred); and » practice working with the Local Government Act, Board or Council meeting procedures, agenda preparations and the production of minutes (preferred).
