The City of Abbotsford's Recreation & Culture division is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated professional with proven leadership abilities and programming expertise to join their dynamic team as a temporary, full-time Recreation Programmer.

In this exciting function, you are responsible for developing, leading, supervising and evaluating a wide variety of recreation services, programs and events for all participants. Creativity and marketing expertise are essential as you promote interest and participation in program activities. Strong leadership abilities and managery expertise are essential as you help select, empower, train, mentor and evaluate a team of recreation staff. Your capability to build and maintain strong relationships will make you an asset to the team as you contact with community groups, school officials and other stakeholders.

Your excellent communication, organizational, administrative and critical thinking expertise and abilities, combined with a strong commitment to customer service excellence will guide your success in this job offer.

To be considered for this job offer, you must have:
   » Post-secondary diploma in a related discipline.
   » Two years' practice in recreation program development including six months of practice in community recreation.
   » One-year managery practice.
   » Occupational First Aid Level 1.
   » CPR Level C Certification.
   » Valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.

this job offer is unionized, CUPE Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $28.38 to $33.37 per hour. Please note shift work is required, including evenings & weekends.
